Stop, It's Pumpkin Time

I love this time of year in the States: decorative gourds and pumpkins, Halloween decorations, etc. Sadly, the French are not into those things (really? REALLY?) so I have to generate my own fun.

Here is part of it:

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

1 2/3 c flour
2/3 c sugar (cut from 1 c)
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1 t each cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice
1 egg
1 c pumpkin
1/2 c melted and cooled butter
1 c chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Combine the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in the pumpkin and butter. Slowly add the dry mix to the wet mix, stirring constantly. Mix the chocolate chips into the batter and fill greased muffin tins 3/4 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Yummy warm from the oven but even better the next day!
